#FleetingGreetings

Posting this as a response to a tweet when @fourfoot asked if we had ever met someone in a fleeting way and had an impact on us.

This is my story. A young lady (Cla(i)re M..... - drop me a line if you read this!) at a house near a station outside of Coventry, near Westwood Business Park.

A poem/song about should I contact her... now I've tracked her down with BT phonebook online... It's called "I have no regrets" (This one didn't make the cut into my poetry book "Recollections of You")

I HAVE NO REGRETS

I didn't need to hedge my bets

I just was not the sort to have regrets

No need for getting in a fret

No need for dripping with a worried sweat

From the first look of your face

I guessed I'd always have a case

To start the fight, to run the race

The phone-book told me of your place

And I have no regrets

No second thoughts, no debts

No reason to reject the choice I'd made

I have no regrets

No problems remain set

No chance I could forget, I will recall

I have no regrets at all

I wrote the letter to you line by line

Rewriting every page time after time

Felt I was walking the thinnest line

This time, this time, just like the last time

It wasn't just a case of boy meets girl

Each second counted as the clock hands turned

We put into practice all we'd learned

But could we bridge the gap between our two worlds?

And I have no regrets

No second thoughts, no debts

No reason to reject the choice I'd made

I have no regrets

No problems remain set

No chance I could forget, I will recall

I have no regrets at all

Not hard to track you down

The question was ‘Would I?’

Chance of a lifetime?

Or a chance to pass me by?

Not hard to track you down

The question was ‘Should I?’

Should I leave it there with no chance to learn?

Should I leave the stone that I had unturned?

Should I use the match to make the fire burn?

Should I? Should I? Should I?

And I have no regrets

No second thoughts, no debts

No reason to reject

I have no regrets

No problems remain set

No chance I could forget

No second thoughts, no debts

No frets, no sweats, no threats

I have no, I have no, I have no regrets
